It is safe for all stones to be cleaned with dishwasher detergent, however, the heat in the dishwasher can cause damage to some of the softer gemstones. If you are ever unsure whether or not a stone that you own is safe to place in the dishwasher, please contact us.
Stones that CAN be placed in the Jeweler in the Dishwasher:
Diamonds, rubies and any color sapphire, faceted synthetic birthstones.
Stones that CAN NOT be placed in Jeweler in the Dishwasher. Amethyst, emerald, cameo, chalcedony, chrysoprase, coral, foilback stones, hematite, jasper, lapis, masonic, moonstone, marcasite, malachite, onyx, opals, pearls, tanzanite, tigereye, turquoise. Do not place enameled jewelry in the unit.
Keep in mind that there are so many stones on the market, it is impossible to list every stone that cannot take heat. Therefore, contact us before placing any ring or earring in the dishwasher that contains a stone not seen in either of the above lists of stones.
Be sure to have your rings and earrings inspected by your jeweler before placing jewelry in Jeweler in the Dishwasher to be sure all stones are secure in the mounting. All jewelry should be inspected every six months if worn daily.
